11 New Buildings Coming to Downtown

Downtown Portland is about to look a lot different. Local developer Downtown Development Group LLC owns 11 different surface parking lots in downtown and has announced ambitious plans to develop them into large office and mixed-use buildings. Calling the project the “Ankeny Blocks,” the firm (owned by the local Goodman family) plans to capitalize on anticipated easing of height restrictions downtown. Five of the buildings could be as tall as 460 feet, making them some of the tallest in the city. (For comparison, the KOIN Center is 509ft/35 stories and the US Bankcorp Tower is 536ft/42 stories).

Locations of proposed new buildings:

The tallest buildings would be on lots #05, 17, 18, 19, and 45, potentially rising 460 feet.
