The City of Portland's largest affordable housing project in 50 years broke ground in the Lloyd District last month. The 12-story building is going up along NE Grand Avenue between NE Hassalo and NE Holladay streets and will have 240 apartment units (a mix of studios, 1-bedrooms and 2-bedrooms) with ground-floor commercial space and retail. Of the 240 units, 217 will be available for households at or below 60% of Oregon’s median family income ($32,000 per year), 23 units will be available for households at or below 50% of the median family income ($27,000 per year), and 20 units will be assigned Section Eight vouchers to assist those recovering from domestic violence.
The building should be completed in October of 2019.
