Are You Ready to Vote?

With everything going on you may not have realized that we’re less than two months away from Election Day! This year Election Day is on Tuesday, November 3rd and the deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, October 13th.

If you are a resident of Oregon, you can register to vote online here. To register to vote in Oregon, you must be:

  1. A U.S. citizen
  2. A resident of Oregon
  3. At least 16 years old (in Oregon you can register to vote as soon as you turn 16, but you will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after your 18th birthday).

Not sure if you’re registered yet? Head over to the Oregon Secretary of State’s “My Vote” site to check your registration status, update your registration, check the status of your ballot, and more!

Have you recently moved?

Oregon is a 100% vote-by-mail state (and has been since 2000!), so in order to receive your ballot for the November election, you MUST update your address with the secretary of state by October 13th. After October 13th you must go to your local county elections office to update your registration information and request a ballot (you can do this until Election Day). To update your address before October 13th, go to the Oregon Secretary of State’s “My Vote” site and enter your name and birthday. Once your voter information is displayed, scroll to the bottom and click “Update Registration.” Please note, you will need your Oregon driver’s license, permit or ID card number issued by the DMV to make changes to your registration online. Alternatively, you can contact your local County Elections Official to update your address.

If you live in Multnomah County you can sign up to track your ballot at multco.us/trackyourballot. You will be notified when your ballot is mailed to you, when the county has received your completed ballot, and when it has been counted!

Have you been displaced due to wildfires?

Many Oregonians will not be able to return home even after the wildfires have subsided. In Oregon, residents can still receive ballots even if they are not at their permanent residence. To receive a ballot at a different mailing address, contact your local County Elections Official. Click here to find contact information for your local County Elections Official.
