Design Review for Ankeny Apartments

A new development proposed for the Central Eastside has gone before the Design Commission to mixed feedback. If approved, the Ankeny Apartments will be a17 unit, 6 story building designed to have net zero energy use. Sustainable features will include triple pane passive house rated windows and highly insulated walls and roofs. The property will also include parking for three plug-in vehicles, as well as in-unit bicycle parking.

The Design Commission provided feedback that the current building designs may be too obtrusive to the neighborhood, though it is within the current zoning regulations. The project will go before the Commission for a second hearing on November 1.
