PDC to Buy Six Central Eastside Parcels

At yesterday’s Board of Commissioners Meeting, the Portland Development Commission (PDC) formally considered a purchase and lease agreement with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for over 4 acres of land in Portland’s Central Eastside Industrial District.  The land falls between SE Taylor and SE Madison Streets at SE Water Street. PDC would use money from the urban renwal district for the $2.8 milllion price tag. PDC would also pay about $165,000 per year to ODOT to lease 3 nearby parcels.

The PDC hopes to use the purchase to “control three full city blocks of real estate in a strategic central city location and enable PDC to deliver on goals to increase affordable industrial space and district parking.”
