Safely Dispose of Your Old Prescription Drugs

The City of Portland is holding a Prescription Drug Turn In and Shred Event in east Portland on Saturday, April 29th from 10am – 2pm. Drop off your unwanted or expired prescription drugs and they will be safely incinerated. Bring any sensitive documents you need to discard and they will be securely shredded on site. By participating, you reduce the risk of identity theft and misuse of prescription drugs!

  • Date: Saturday, April 29, 2017
  • Time: 10am-2pm (Please no early birds)
  • Location: 4735-4747 E. Burnside Street
  • EVENT ENDS AT 2PM OR WHEN THE TRUCKS ARE FILLED TO CAPACITY

Acceptable items for shred event: Up to two grocery bags of documents.

Items not accepted: Cardboard or three ring binders

Acceptable items for Rx drug turn in:

  • Prescription medications and samples
  • over the counter medications
  • vitamins
  • pet medications
  • medicated ointments
  • liquid medication in leak proof containers.

Items not accepted:

  • Thermometers
  • Sharps
  • Syringes
  • IV bags
  • bloody or infectious waste
  • hydrogen peroxide
  • aerosol cans
  • inhalers
  • EpiPens.
