Once upon a time, a little girl named Kate used to play Office in her closet using her Dad’s canceled checks, a stapler, a rotary phone and miscellaneous paperwork. My dad was a Realtor and I copied his sales manner on my pretend phone calls. I was destined to be a broker.

I studied Real Estate Finance in college, but a trip to Europe led me down a path of marketing, branding, strategy, and project management for multi-million dollar web design projects.

Then the entrepreneurship bug bit. I opened a successful women’s clothing boutique in San Francisco and later I launched a stationery boutique here in Portland.

When my family sold our house and bought a new one, I realized my passion for real estate. I absolutely loved the process and how it engaged my right-side business acumen and my left-side creativity in equal measure. Plus, I have an intrinsic desire to help people meet their goals.

I live in NE Portland with my writer husband, 2 amazing boys and our feisty puppy, Pepper. I’m a lover of color and style, appreciator of gorgeous scenery, and am constantly amused by life with my silly family and friends. My love for design has led me into the remodeling business. My goal is to keep all the good vintage features and modernize as appropriate while injecting loads of style into the homes I renovate (and I can certainly help you visualize your remodel and find contractors and discounts to boot).

Buying or selling a home can be quite emotional. Possibly stressful. Hopefully amazing. The notion of home holds a special place in my heart – for home is where we live, where memories are made, and a reflection of you and your style and the way you live. My goal is to guide clients in their quest for the perfect home and manage the process with grace, smarts, and integrity – and hopefully a little fun!
