Laurel was great to work with. She was patient with us and we didn't feel pressure to jump on a house, we looked at quite a few and Laurel has always available to us to look and view properties. She noticed one that we had looked at before came back on the market after some small remodel. We may not have looked at that house again if she didn't mention it and suggest we go take another look. This is the house we finally loved and put an offer on!!! Laurel worked hard at negotiating for us right down to the wire and we got the house!!! We are so happy. We were able to purchase our "dream" home thanks to all the sage advice, inventive strategy and long hours that Laurel dedicated to our search. At the beginning of the process she had us list our top priorities for a house (purchase price, age, floor plan, location, neighborhood amenities, etc.) and then identified properties for us to visit. We visited quite a number of properties in the process; Laurel was always gracious with her time and often shifted her schedule about at the last minute to accommodate our viewings. Laurel made the process so easy for us, she literally did everything while we were 280 miles away. Selling a house is a stressful endeavor, especially after we had poured our hearts into our house for 7 years and were uprooting our family of 4. We were looking for someone who could be sensitive to our family's needs, dynamic in the market, and a shrewd business person. With Laurel, we got all three. From the very beginning she outlined what the process would look like, organized our calendars, and set up and managed contractors to help us ready and promote our house. She jotted down every detail in the improvement of our place along with personal touches to really convey the value of what we were selling. After the work was done, she took the time to map out a pricing strategy and an open house schedule. Part of staging the house included notes all throughout the house that highlighted house features and improvements. The results of Laurel's strategy was astounding. We had so many people view our house and ended up receiving 9 offers after the first 2 days on the market. Our house ended up selling for 13% more than our listing price. She also masterfully negotiated repairs and closing costs. Because we were so far away from the house, she went the extra distance to keep us in the loop along every step of the way. She had no hesitation to call or work on our behalf with any of the parties involved. She also travelled to the house to make sure projects were completed and that things were in order. As a side note, Laurel also showed us many listings over 2 years. She was never pushy towards getting us to see certain listings. Although she never said it, it was pretty obvious that the most important factor was whether the house was right for us. If you are looking to buy or sell a house, Laurel Marquand is your realtor!

What we really appreciate about her and the reason we continue to be her client for years and through multiple transactions is her professionalism, caring, attention to detail and quite honestly, getting the job done. Laurel was absolutely incredible. My partner and I were first time home buyers and we went through several realtors before Laurel and none of them connected on the level we did with Laurel. Laurel demonstrated several qualities that would make me recommend her to anyone: --- Patience --- Laurel was incredibly patient with us through the whole process. She encouraged us to go on tours to figure out what we really wanted. She wanted to make sure we were not settling for a home and were really getting something we liked. --- Experienced --- Throughout the entire process Laurel structured everything in such a way that we didn't feel unprepared at any step. Her experience spoke for itself and we were able to probe and ask about previous buyers experiences with aspects of the offer etc in order to make an informed decision. Also I firmly believe we won the first house we bid on specifically because of Laurel's strategy and people skills. she formulated the entire approach and gathered all the appropriate information for us to succeed and evaluate at each moment. She also live texted us any updates constantly. --- Transparent --- Whenever Laurel didn't know something, she would ask around and wouldn't make up answers. This also demonstrates her resourcefulness and frankly, her honesty and humility. --- Kindness / Empathy --- Laurel was always so emotionally supportive, kind and really understood what we were looking for in a way others did not. I got the sense in the back of my mind from other realtors that they were expecting us to settle or make tons of compromises but with Laurel I felt like she immediately knew when we toured a house whether or not we liked it and also which houses we'd like. She also recommended the house we ultimately bought when we were on a business trip and weren't actively looking at listings. So I can safely say we couldn't have done this without her!!
